Users review: Homefront: Four Stars (out of Five) Sylvester Stallone produced and wrote this action thriller (based on the book of the same name by Chuck Logan). He is scheduled to star in the movie itself, but instead gave the role to his friend (and current favorite action stars) Jason Statham. Statham is usual ultimate badass car it in the film and goes against none other than James Franco movies as main bad guy! The cast also includes Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth, Frank Grillo and Clancy Brown! He retired on a DEA agent looking to escape this life is dangerous to fight crime by moving himself and his young daughter in a small town. A problem once again found it in the form of a small time drug lord-meter high sought to expand their business. The script is pretty routine but act and their performance is topnotch. Definitely worth seeing for any fan Statham action movie or play junkie.Statham secret DEA agent, called Phil Broker, helps bust a biker gang who sent the leader, Danny T (Chuck Zito) , in prison. It is a shame that most viewers would prefer to see a fake tough guy cute boy CGI-ed in an action hero role than watching the real thing (and Statham is definitely something real). If you want a true 80 style kick-ass action movie than this is the film for you and Statham definitely deliver the goods (again). Franco is also a joy to see how scoundrel jerk master's treatment and its varied career (with him doing wildly different roles in each film) who gets caught more and more impressive. Ryder, Bosworth, and all the rest are good in the film as well. Everyones a standout in it (at least the principal actors). Gary Fleder (who is also directing thrillers like runaway jury, kiss the girls, dont words and things to do in Denver when you're dead) did a wonderful job directing the movie and it definitely delivered everything I expected of it.
